ANAEROBIC DIGESTERS

PROVEN HIGH EFFICIENCY MIXING

The advent of new digestion systems has brought greater scrutiny to the performance of the equipment in the digestion system.  Mixing has long been regarded as one of the key components with many different concepts being tried.  The JetMix System has risen to this challenge and has passed every test including lithium chloride washout, pH, temperature, and solids concentration.  It has proven to have an effective mixing volume rating of 95% or more, even with internal piping and roof support columns.  JetMix provides this improvement without affecting the digestion process.

LOW INITIAL COST

JetMix systems do not require special roof supports, gas piping, or mechanical assembly The equipment requires a minimum of space outside the tank and needs no special housing or external devices.  This translates to faster and easier construction.  The materials of construction can be varied to meet specific conditions and provide long life.  Nozzles are available in several materials as is the piping and pump parts.

LOW OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE COST

The absence of internal moving parts mean no maintenance on movable gas grids, bearings, or gas piping.  The use of a pump means simplicity of service and maintenance.  JetMix features highly efficient mixing at lower power demands than other systems.  Operators have found that they can operate on selected schedules rather than continuous mixing.  This has shown to save power of as much as 60 to 80% without reducing gas production or negatively affecting volatile solids reduction.

FLEXIBLE DESIGN

Any type of roof or tank construction can be accommodated.  The system adapts easily to conical or flat bottom tanks, Floating roofs, membrane roofs, fixed steel or pillar supported concrete designs have all been fitted with JetMix systems.  The force on a floating roof generated from the JetMix system is negligible.  Even different tank construction materials such as steel or concrete have these systems in operation.

WORKS WITH DIFFERENT DESIGNS

Thermophillic and mesophillic digesters have all been furnished with JetMix systems.  The tanks have included gas holders, fixed roofs, membrane roofs, different tank constructions, buried tanks as well as above ground tanks.  The mixing system can be coupled with heat exchanges.  Feeding can be done through the nozzles and outloading can be done with the mixing pumps, saving on additional equipment.

EFFECTIVE SCUM PREVENTION

The unique top nozzle effectively controls scum and grease.  No special controls are required.  It has been proven on thermophillic and mesophillic digesters.  The low initial cost brings big dividends by maintaining the effective mixing volume and eliminating cleaning problems.  The nozzle is not detrimental to the mixing pattern and uses the mixing pumps for power.

EASY UPGRADE/RETROFIT

Existing tanks are frequently upgraded using JetMix.  The piping can be mounted on the floor without affecting performance.  The center draft tube in this northern Illinois digester collapsed under the weight of settled solids.  When the digester was drained to paint the interior of the roof, JetMix was able to make the conversion and put the digester back on line within a month from the time the project was started with no advance planning.
