Using powerful jets to maintain or resuspend solids, the JetMixTM Vortex Mixing System by Liquid Dynamics has shown itself to be a powerful alternative to conventional mechanical tank mixers.
JetMix technology was developed in response to problems documented in efficiently mixing large circular tanks. The system is engineered to take advantage of a tank's natural hydraulic characteristics in order to achieve optimum mixing of solids. The unique flow pattern created by the systems simple nozzle and pump placement eliminates dead spots, reduces energy requirements and virtually eliminates solids settling.
The system is favored over other types of mixing systems for its increased mixing efficiency, reduced operating costs and simplified maintenance. It is used in municipal and industrial applications including biosolids storage, chemical mixing, flow equalization, anaerobic digestion and process applications - and can be retrofitted for both below and above ground tanks.
The JetMix system is capable of operation on an as-needed basis because of is ability to quickly and completely resuspend solids (usually within 24-48 hours). Intermittent operation can mean significant savings for facilities which can accommodate this approach. The system is also ideal for applications with varying liquid levels or those which use supplemental air for mixing or maintaining anaerobic conditions.
